CASE STUDY EQUATORIAL COCA-COLA BOTTLING COMPANY
Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company (ECCBC), owner of several bottling plants in North and West Africa, required a Demand Planning tool for 11 of the 13 countries where it operates (belonging to the WAC - West African Countries Business Unit) with the objective of establishing an accurate consensus Sales Forecast through a collaborative forecasting process, and adjusting stock levels accordingly. This process was designed to support a complete S&OP (Sales & Operations) process which continues to be developed, according to the varying levels of maturity of the different business units.
ECCBC selected FuturMaster as the Demand Planning tool, which covered their expectations for functional coverage (statistical forecast, collaborative forecast, different levels of forecast aggregation, exception management, multi-currency, monitoring & reporting), cost and implementation timeline. After considering several implementation strategies, ECCBC and Supply Nexus designed and deployed the solution in the country with the most mature processes, followed by a rapid and parallel deployment to the remaining 10 countries. The start-up has been a success.
